The ASLIA National Conference (ANC) is the largest annual event of its type for sign language interpreters within the Australasia and Oceania region.
This event is the largest gathering of Auslan/English interpreters and allied professionals that is regularly held in Australia.
This year the event, themed “A profession on the move”, will be held in Perth from Friday 29 August until Sunday 31 August 2014.
The conference is also open to interpreters and translators from other language communities, deaf people, service providers, consumers of interpreting services, and interpreting/translation students.
The event features International Keynote Presenter Dr Robert Adam, a Research Associate at the Language Research Centre at University College London, UK and in 2014 was Visiting Professor in the Department of ASL and Deaf Studies at Gallaudet University, USA.
