Deaf Australia runs campaigns to ensure that Australia adheres to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disability (CRPD). We highlight the responsibility to abide by the commitment to the CRPD’s main focus which is to promote the right of people to live as full citizens in their communities.

Interpreters at Prime Minister's Press Conferences
Deaf Australia is focusing on the lack of Auslan interpreters at the Prime Minister’s press conferences. Access to information directly is a fundamental right and enshrined in the the CRPD. We therefore advocate that Auslan interpreters should be the norm at these press conferences, not the exception.
