Dear Parents/Guardians,
We are pleased to announce the 2023 Crossing Borders Youth Camp (CBYC) in 2023. As hosts, Deaf Australia and Deaf Connect are excited at the possibility of your child to consider participation in the CBYC. The camp supports Deaf/Hard of Hearing young people aged 13-17 years old from all over Australia to develop their self-esteem, personal and leadership skills as well as enhance their friendship networks. During the camp, participants will be involved with team building exercises, leadership workshops and fantastic outdoor adventure activities in a vacation-based environment.
Location: QCCC Brookfield, Brisbane, Queensland
When: Wednesday 12th April to Sunday 16th April 2023
Registration Fee: $415 (All meals, accommodation, and activities are included). If your child have an NDIS plan that may cover this event, please email Erin at [email protected]
Travel: All participants will meet at the designated meeting point near QCCC Brookfield camp whether this is by self-transport e.g. by car, coach transport from the Brisbane airport or public transport. More details on transport arrangements will be shared after registration is finalised.
Program: Participants will take part in the following activities: team building activities, outdoor activities, orienteering, adventure challenges, and workshops.
Our commitments: Crossing Borders Youth Camp will provide supervising staff and volunteers/leaders to attend the camp. They will be on hand to take all reasonable care to protect the participants and supervise their behaviour during the camp.
Information for parents/guardians/caregivers: Parents/guardians/caregivers should be aware that supervising staff at QCCC Brookfield will not be responsible for any injury or damage to property which may occur at the camp, where staff members have not been negligent. All participants will be expected to abide by all camp rules and regulations, and to participate in a mature, cooperative and responsible manner. If the participant needs specialised support, please contact the camp coordinator and further arrangements can be discussed.

Full payment is due by Friday 17th February 2023. (Please note that, if you are from interstate, please register the form as soon as possible so you can start the travel plan soon)
