International Women’s Day – 8th March 2023

Transcript

Today is International Women’s Day and the UN's theme for 2023 is "DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality". This theme aims to recognise and celebrate the contribution women and girls are making to technology and online education.

Deaf Australia recognises so many great Deaf female leaders who have contributed to our community.

This year, International Women’s Day explores the impact of the digital gender gap and the barriers women face, accessing the online world. We are calling on governments, activists, and the private sector alike to support us in empowering women with their efforts in making the digital world safer and more inclusive. One solution is to make information accessible in Auslan.

Digital technology is opening new doors for the empowerment of Deaf women and the Deaf community.

We hope you will join us in celebrating today and strive for better future. Happy Women’s Day to all strong, intelligent and wonderful women of this world!
