Step 2: Non-Deaf Pathway

Transcript

Welcome!

This Toolkit was designed for you to understand and provide better accessibility, inclusion, diversity, and equity (AIDE) to Deaf community in Australia. This AIDE Toolkit covers four main domains in the society - education, employment, health, and language rights. Deaf Australia hope that you will find the tools and resources inside the Toolkit useful and implementable in your industry and welcomes your feedback.

As you go through each area in this Toolkit, you will find a mix of checklists, guidelines, snapshots, position papers, lists, and summaries from the research team on Deaf community in Australia. Please take advantage of those, explore how you can improve the system in your area, and encourage others with changing or improving theirs – by sending them to this AIDE Toolkit site.

Deaf Australia is the national peak-body advocacy organisation focusing on improving the quality of every aspect of a deaf person’s life in Australia and we rely on your on-going support for deaf people in your area.

Enjoy exploring Australia’s first Deaf-designed and Deaf-led AIDE Toolkit!
